Sunset Kisses

Hello! I had started this blog post a couple of days ago, as in getting the pictures ready for it, and then I left my laptop for a while when my system decided it was time for a restart for the updates to be in effect. :( I was so frustrated that it did it without my permission I decided the laptop and I needed a break for a while. So, now I'm back on it! lol
I already have a few looks lined up for the blog... so keep posted!!

Ooo and a mini rant today. On Instagram (my username: @geenabarret if you're interested :)), it kind of drives me crazy when I see someone's makeup look that I know, and their name is nowhere to be seen in a tag... or when I see a look, and I know who did it, it's used in some kind of makeup contest...and no tag to be found. So irritating. As a copy editor for the newspaper for my college and plagiarism ALWAYS being a complete NO-NO. I feel like it's plagiarism even if it is a photo sharing app, you know? Okay, just my vent for the day.
Speaking of Instagram, this look was actually inspired by this one picture I saw. Her username is @reenerneener if you wanted to look her up. She's gorgeous and so are her looks!

Firelight

Hellllo! Sorry I haven't posted very much. This was the first week of this semester at my college for me, so I wanted to focus on getting a schedule together with school and working out. I have working out figured out too!! I'm doing the P90X program my dad had gotten me back in high school. I have started and stopped it so many times because of reasons that just made it difficult for me to work out at the time. NOW it will happen no more!! I'm sticking with it. Especially because after the legs and back work out I just did... I couldn't walk for two days. My calves wouldn't allow my heel to hit the ground. I am not going through that pain again!! Which is why I have to stick with it.
OK, to the point of the post. Here's a look that I kept thinking about because of the Hunger Games. I am sooooo excited for the movie to come out. I read the books as fast as I could on my kindle. Anyways, the "girl on fire" slogan made me really miss playing with Sugarpill's Asylum. So, I made a quick look inspired a bit by fire and this beautiful flower I found! It's a Zantedeschia. Crazy name, right? I hope you guys like it!!

Wearable Fire Fairy

Hey guys! So, I initially had this great idea for what I was going to do with this look. It came from this tattoo that my friend, Skylar, really likes and I told her I would come up with a makeup look for it. My great idea would have involved awesome eyeliner and more intense colors until I remembered that I had work and the district manager might come in that day... so, I didn't want to do anything crazy and get yelled at. We had to stop working one day and go to the back room to remove nail polish because it was too dark. Talk about hindering freedom of expression!
I called this look the wearable one and I fully plan on doing a more dramatic one- really excited for when I have the time to do that! (May be in quite a few days though.. hope to get it done soon).

Blue Iris

Hey guys! I hope you're all following your new years resolutions. I've only followed one so far, which is working on this blog. I killed the eating healthy one already by eating pizza today and ending the day off with some butterscotch that my boyfriend's mom made. Couldn't help myself with that one- it's very good! Anyways, I decided that for makeup looks, the best thing for me to do is practice doing something that I'm really not used to doing, which is a cut crease. I wanted to make the crease come down lower than my natural crease though, because with blue irises, it's a small pop of yellow and orange . I hope you guys enjoy the look!
